“and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” 1 Peter 3:21

The decision to get baptised is an important and personal one. It reflects a commitment to the Lordship of Christ, a public declaration of faith to make known your decision to put off your old ways of sin and enter into a new life with God.

Just as how water washes off our physical impurities, the act of baptism serves as a symbol of spiritual purity. Because of the death and resurrection of Christ, we can now approach the throne of God boldly with a clear conscience, no longer having the stain of sin separating us from the presence of God.

Would you take some time today to reflect on your own baptism – what it meant to you and how you felt? Then open your heart and listen to what God is impressing upon your heart.

If you haven’t made the decision to get baptised, perhaps this might be an opportunity for you to consider taking that step of faith. Lean into God and see if He might be prompting you to make that decision today! It will be one you won’t regret.
