Solomon was a wise and very wealthy king of Israel - just to illustrate how wealthy and glorious Solomon was 1 Kings 10 says that the weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was 666 talents, which is approximately 23000kg. He had 1400 chariots and 12000 horses, and he made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones. King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth.

Yet God says that the glory of Solomon, cannot compare to how He has clothed the wildflowers in the field.

“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!“ Luke 12:27-29

And if God has clothed and crafted the flowers so intricately and beautifully, even though they wither so quickly, how much more will he care for us and love us?

God knows our worries and our needs, and we need to have the faith and assurance that He will provide for us. But how can we build that trust and confidence?

Verse 31 in Luke 12 says, “But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.”

Seeking God’s kingdom means putting God first, being obedient to His commandments, and walking faithfully with Him. As we walk closely with Him and abide in Him, we will begin to feel the peace and love of God and be assured that God is indeed working in our lives and directing our every step.

And so perhaps it’s really that simple. The fears and worries we have about our lives can all be surrendered to our loving God as we seek Him first. As we seek Him first, we will find renewed strength each day to continue pressing on. As we seek Him first, He will reveal to us His plan and purpose for our lives.

So don’t be afraid or worried, but walk confidently into the future, knowing that God goes before us, goes behind us, and is with us.
