God is Greater | Short Sermon Series
You may be broken but that is not your identity. Your identity lies in being God’s beloved child.
Sometimes we forget that we’re not fighting these battles alone. We try to be strong and avoid failing, and then start blaming ourselves for what we’re facing. We separate these feelings from being a Christian, where we worship on Sundays and go back into the same old rhythm on Monday.
But there’s hope, and that hope is living - that hope is God. We’re not hopeless. We’re able to overcome, just as Christ overcame the grave. We have a God who loves and forgives us. We have a god whose plans are greater than our own. We have a God who hasn’t failed, and He isn’t starting to now either.
There are bound to be days where emotions and thoughts try to drown you, but try to take every battle as an opportunity to live to your faith a little more. It may be easier to find refuge and security in people around you, but if we’re going to put your security in something, shouldn’t we place it in something which can’t be taken away? Friends, compliments, good looks - they can all be taken away, but God will never be taken away from you.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."
Deuteronomy 31:6
