Living By Faith Amidst COVID-19 | Short Sermon Series
1. Remember that God is in control
It’s easy to let worry overwhelm us. But instead of indulging in our worries, let’s focus on the assurance that God has everything under control. Just take a quick look around you, and you’ll see God’s provision even in this season. Simple things such as God’s provision in the sufficient amount of food that’s on the table or even having a stable internet connection. Seeing God’s provision in even the smallest things shows that God takes into account even the smallest details of your life and He loves you so much! Your heavenly Father knows what you need, and He will provide for you.
“And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14) Mordecai said this to Queen Esther this in a time where the Jews faced great danger. Like Queen Esther, we each have our own part in these times - to use our gifts and the opportunities before us to make a difference, because we have been born for such a time as this. We can reach out to friends and family to ask how’re they’re doing, donate to the needy, hold everyone up in prayer, or create uplifting pieces of art. We aren’t helpless in this situation, and God can use whatever you bring to Him, big or small. Just like the five loaves and two fish, God can reach the multitudes with the little that you bring to Him!
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4) Though we may be living in uncertain times right now, let’s not lose hope and faith. Let’s turn our eyes back to Jesus and remember that we’re only walking through the valley, and God’s light will be to be shining down when we come out of the shadow!
