“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” Philippians 4:4
When our hearts are heavy and we feel everything but joyful, it’s hard to read such verses that tell us to rejoice.
“What’s there to be glad about? So many things aren’t going my way.” we may grumble.
Yet Christ did not come to give us a life of misery - He came to give us life to the fullest. He came to give abundant life!
It is the devil who plants the seeds of discontentment within our souls, and if we linger on these seeds and water them, they’ll sprout up weeds that will choke us. It is the devil who comes to steal, kill and destroy.
No matter what circumstance you find yourself in, and especially in the dark valleys of life, hold on to the hope that God walks with you and holds your hand. He is always with you and will never, ever, leave you alone.
That fact alone will bring you comfort, joy, and a peace that surpasses all understanding.
