Season For Everything | Short Sermon Series
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1
Like seasons in a year, our lives take on different seasons at different times. Some seasons bring us great joy – maybe a new relationship, or success in our jobs – but nothing lasts forever, and when these seasons of prosperity end, we may feel great disappointment. But the ending of a season isn’t always bad – there are some seasons we can’t wait to get over with, like periods of sickness or the aftermath of a breakup.
Our seasons will change, and there will be a time for that to happen. Instead of waiting for your season of suffering to end, or worrying about whether your season of prosperity will end, let us learn to be deeply thankful for every season - good or bad.
Our seasons are not for nothing, every single day, as we walk through hills and valleys, God is working in our hearts. Like a potter who moulds the clay, He is shaping our hearts and our lives to be a greater reflection of Himself to the broken world around us.
Are you waiting for a season to end? Or, instead, hoping that nothing changes? Don’t waste the season God has provided for you right now. Be it stormy or sunny, summer or winter, learn to be content in the knowledge that God walks with you through every season.
He will never leave you nor forsake you! So walk with confidence and boldness, no matter what comes your way.
