The Lord Will Renew | Short Sermon Series
“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:30-31
It’s the start of a brand new week again! As the year begins and we slowly start to get into the rhythm of things, it can prove trying and tiring to bring ourselves to wake up early, head to school or work and complete all the tasks we’ve been assigned.
God knows that the days can get weary, and that our toil is not easy. But we weren’t created to do it all on our own! God offers us help to get through each day with a promise – hope in the Lord and you will renew your strength.
We cannot expect to get through life on our own strength, hoping in our own abilities. Our strength is limited and our capacity to love is limited – but where we come to the end of ourselves, there we find that God’s provision of strength, love and grace is more than enough to cover where we lack. After all, His grace is sufficient for us, His power is made perfect in our weakness.
Perhaps you feel like you’re nearing the end of your own capacity – life feels overwhelming and there’s just too much to do and too much to think about. Today, would you know and hold deep in your heart the knowledge that God desires to renew your strength. Hope not in your own abilities, but hope in the limitless provision and goodness of God. As you depend on Him day by day, you will find that you will soar on wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, walk and not be faint.
