To the Christian Woman Who Is Crippled By Self-Doubt | Short Sermon Series
Do you struggle with self-doubt? Or do you have a hard time believing that God could actually use you?
Although it is easy to claim to believe that all things are possible with God, it’s a lot harder to believe that God could actually use me. As we know our own heart, weaknesses, limitations and sinfulness. However, as we ‘humble’ ourselves by ignoring God’s calling because we are not good enough, on the contrary, it comes as nothing but pride and our doubt in God.
Because when God calls us to do go do something, it is not us, but Him Who will do it through us. He is the One Who will give the strength and grace to get it done. And ultimately, He is the One Who will be glorified.
Hence it is alright to feel inadequate, as it is when we come to the end of our strength, when we see just how limited and weak we really are. When we acknowledge our own great inability, that we learn to lean on God. And, that is when God can use us.
Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. (1 Corinthians 1:26-29)
Dear friend, what is God calling you to do today? We do not know what God has called you to do, but we do know that, no matter what His calling is, He will give you the strength to accomplish His purpose in your life. He is simply asking you to look to Him.
