How do your prayers sound like? As we interact with a holy God, it’s important to be reverent, but reverence doesn’t mean not being honest with God about the deepest cries of our hearts.

Like Adam and Eve, we often are tempted to hide from God. Perhaps we may not hide the things we have done wrong, but we do tend to hide the “why”.

For instance, our prayers might sound like this -

“I’m sorry God for worrying about whether I’ll find a partner - help me to know that you’re enough for me”

“I’m anxious about whether I’ll do well for my test, help me to trust in you”

These prayers are good, but we can afford to be more honest with God instead of downplaying our fears and slapping on platitudes that we feel like we should believe.

Tell God exactly why you’re afraid of not having a partner. Tell Him why you’re afraid of doing badly in school! Tell Him the root of your fears, and don’t be afraid to be honest.

“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭1‬

We don’t have to hide the truth because He already knows. And He loves us deeply.

May the designs by @findingjoy_ encourage us to take some time with Abba and share with Him the things on our hearts.
