Ageless and practical proverbs: An inspiring short sermon series by The Commandment Co

In the hustle and bustle of life, sometimes we wish we had a clearer guide on how to live life, so we’ll be sharing with you a few ageless (and practical) proverbs for daily life!

  1. Pursuit of riches
Yes, we need money in our daily lives and its easy to believe that money will solve many of our problems, but here’s a good reminder that money can’t buy you a loving family, a good night’s sleep or peace within you.

Pursuit of riches: It's much better to have a kind, loving family, even with little, than to have great wealth with nothing but hatred and strife all around you ~ Prov 15:17 TPT

Proverbs 3 gives us another tip when managing money: “Why would you withhold payment on your debt when you have the ability to pay? Just do it!”  because the Lord will provide for you!

The Lord will provide: Why would you withhold payment on your debt when you have the ability to pay? Just do it! ~ Proverb 3:27 TPT

  1. Parenting
How do I raise a child?!?! God’s Word tells us that the best way we can teach a child (above all other practical things) is to give them a taste of God’s goodness and His Word even at a young age. Surely they won’t forget this when they grow up!

Parenting: Train up a child in the way he should go (teaching him to seek God's wisdom and will for his abilities and talents), even when he is old, he will not depart from it ~ Prov 22:6 AMP

  1. How to have influence
People with a lot of influence may seem scary to interact with (what if I say the wrong thing!) but Proverbs 25 tells us there is wisdom in using our gentle spirit to influence even the strongest of men!

How to have influence: Use patience and kindness when you want to persuade leaders and watch them change their minds right in front of you. For gentle wisdom will quell the strongest resistance ~ Prov 25:15 TPT
