Our perceptions of ourselves are always clouded by the insecurities we hold on to. These insecurities are like stickers that have super-glued themselves onto us, be it through difficult experiences we’ve gone through, hurtful words that others have said, or even just comparing ourselves to others.

“I’m smart. But not smart enough…”

“I’m trying my best. But it’s not good enough…”

When we allow the stickers to pile up onto us, we begin to lose sight of who we really are. We forget who God says we are.

And God says…
We are fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps 139:14)
We are purposefully made for good works (Eph 2:10)
We are his beloved children (1 John 3:1)
His love for us is not contingent our own efforts (Romans 8:38-39)
In our weakness, His power is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

So how can we continue to let the world condemn us to a life of shame and fear of not being good enough?

In the words of Winnie the Pooh - you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you know.

You are all these things and more, because God, who made the entire universe, made you too! And beloved Child, you’re not just good enough – He says that you are very good (Gen 1:31).
