You may think that doing more for God is the way to please His heart, but God is usually more interested in how our hearts are oriented to Him, as opposed to all the activities we throw ourselves into.

Serving in as many ministries as possible, leading a cell group and inviting all your friends to church may seem like good Christian things you should be doing, but what’s more important is your heart posture as you do them.

Why do you want to serve God? Why are you doing so much?

Is it because you delight in God and want to build His kingdom? Or do we just enjoy the fun and the pride that comes with achievement?

If we’re spending more time in church activities as opposed to cultivating a personal relationship with God, it might be time to take a look at our hearts.

As John Piper puts it well - “Loving Jesus isn’t a matter of doing excellent things. It’s a matter of delighting in an excellent Saviour”

Let this be your reminder today - to make sure you’re delighting in your excellent Saviour even as you do all the excellent things He has enabled you to do!

May the designs by @selahcc encourage us to take time and evaluate what are our priorities in this season!
