Expect something good to happen - Short sermon series by The Commandment Co

Having faced disappointments, sometimes our life motto becomes “if you don’t expect anything good to happen, then you can’t be disappointed.” But this isn’t how God wants you to live!

All the days of the desponding and afflicted are made evil by anxious thoughts and forebodings, but he who has a glad heart has a continual feast regardless of circumstances ~ Prov 15:15

In Proverbs 15, it tells us that we are well with a glad heart but we become dejected by anxious thoughts and foreboding. The ‘evil foreboding’ refers to the fear of something bad when there is nothing wrong! The enemy wants you to expect bad things and become fearful of the “what ifs” in life.

When we fear something bad, we are expecting something from the enemy. When we expect good things, we open the door to God's blessing

When we fear something bad, we are expecting something from the enemy, and it may lead to Satan’s evil plans. But when we expect good things, we are opening the door to God’s blessings (Lam. 3:25).

Therefore, the Lord earnestly waits, expecting, looking, and longing, to be gracious to you; and therefore he lifts himself up that he may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you... Blessed, happy, fortunate, to be envied, are those who earnestly wait for him, who expect and look and long for him ~ Isaiah 30:18

God is good and He wants to be good to you, but you need to be ready and expectant for it! (Isaiah 30:18 (AMPC)) Today is the day we start believing something good is going to happen! Gone are the old mindsets and in are the expectations of good. Let’s remind and encourage ourselves by declaring that “God is good and something good is going to happen to me today!”

God is good and something good is going to happen to me today!

Whether you feel it or not, start praying and expecting because God is yearning to bless you!
