"What does Jesus know?": God can use what doesn't make sense to you - Short sermon series by The Commandment Co

After a long night of toiling and not catching any fish, Jesus told Peter to try once more. Being a fisherman, Peter would’ve thought that he would know better than Jesus (this was his profession after all). What Jesus was saying probably didn’t make any sense to Peter, given that he was experienced AND already fished all night long. He might’ve even been thinking “What does Jesus know about fishing?” and didn’t feel like doing what Jesus said, but he did it anyway and ended up with probably the biggest catch of his fishing career!

He said to Simon, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." But Simon answered and said to him, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; Nevertheless at your word I will let down the net." And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. ~ Luke 5:4-6 - Inspirational short sermon series by The Commandment CoBeing led by our thoughts, ideas, and emotion won't bring a great catch - Inspiring short sermon series by The Commandment Co for you and your loved ones!

Just like Peter, when we’re led by our thoughts and emotions, we probably won’t end up with a big catch. Human knowledge can even fail us. But when we do what God is saying quickly, whether it makes any sense or not, the blessings will amaze you! God will meet us beyond human knowledge, beyond human wisdom, to give us new perspectives of His great provision for us when we heed the voice of God :)
