Our hearts are largely shaped by the thoughts we dwell on and the information and relationships we surround ourselves with. And just like a feedback loop, the state of our hearts will influence which thoughts we prefer to dwell on, the information that we want to seek out, and the relationships we decide to hold close.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Proverbs 4:23

If we want to live righteous and upright lives, we need to pay attention to the state of our hearts, and we need to make an effort to take care of it.

How can we guard our hearts?

One sure way is to immerse ourselves in the Word of God each day. As we read and dwell on the Scriptures, God’s truths and commands are like seeds that are being scattered in our hearts. As we dwell more on His statutes, these seeds take root, are nurtured, and grow into good crops.

Soon enough, they will bring forth a harvest of righteousness, and will be a shield against the falsehoods of the world. We will be better able to tell right from wrong, and better able to walk in the ways of God.

So dive deep into the Bible today, and guard your heart against the devil’s lies and schemes - don’t let your precious heart be led astray!

May the designs by @arkitekyuklid encourage us to be intentional in tending our hearts!
