Psalm 121:1-2 | Short Sermon Series
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.
~ Psalm 121:1-2
Who can I go to for help? As question asked and answered countless of times throughout history. While some have gone to nature, worship other gods or other means, we know that is not where our help comes from. We can learn from pilgrims in Psalm 121. They knew that help came from the Lord and not the mountains. As the creator of this world, and also of us, only He is able to quickly come to our aid.
Our ever source of help 24/7, Psalm 121 is all about God's protection on whatever journey in life that we are on. It is a short psalm and one that is worth praying for frequently. It helps encourage and strengthen your heart. And you will be reminded in verses 3 and 4 that God watches over you and that He never slumbers or sleeps.
May this psalm be your prayer when you are in need of strength and His help. He never forsakes you and He is watching over you day and night!
