We were created to be in communion with God, and to walk closely with Him. To journey through life without God being the most important relationship we’re investing in would be to live life with our priorities in the wrong order.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
We cannot expect to have a fruitful and abundant life if we’re not putting God first. If we’re not spending time with Him in worship, in word or in prayer each day, that’s akin to skipping our meals. It leaves us spiritually weak, and makes it more easy for us to fall spiritually sick - we give in to temptation and we lose our peace.
When God has the first place in our hearts, we give Him the authority and ability to work in our lives, and soon enough it’ll feel like everything will be falling into place. Our circumstances may not change, but the way that we relate to them definitely will - there will be less striving and less worrying, and more peace and contentment.
If you’re feeling stuck or discontent today, take this as an encouragement to run back to God. Time spent with God is never wasted - He moves through your faithfulness as you commune with Him in worship, word and prayer. Even if your time spent with God seems fruitless, there is absolutely no doubt that a greater fruit is being borne in your soul and spirit. So stay faithful in your spiritual disciplines, and watch in awe as God moves powerfully in your life!
May the design by @voidtolight encourage us to make spending time with God our one thing needful today!
