Rise and Shine | Short Sermon Series

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. Isaiah 60:1

Something we might hear first thing in the morning, "Rise and shine!" though I knew what the rise meant, I never quite understood “What does it mean to shine?”

Jesus told us to let our light shine before others so that they might see our good works and glorify God (Matthew 5:16). In other words, we display the light of Jesus by doing the good works which God intends for us.

But we ought to remind ourselves, the true Light – Christ. The true Light that came into the world. He is the light and life of God and when we trusted Him as Saviour, He filled our human spirit with His Own pure light, and God desires that all His children will grow into spiritual maturity.

So, starting off this 2023, let us seek to grow through humble obedience to His Word so that our life may grow in grace and in a knowledge of our Lord. Let us walk in the Spirit, maturing in Christ, so we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God, according to HIS power that is at work within us.

Arise, let your light shine for Christ this 2023!
