Facing a tough work or relationship situation? Are looming exams or unfulfilled goals weighing you down as the year comes to a close?

As we reflect on the year that has passed—its highs, lows, wins, and struggles—perhaps your circumstances right now feel far from ideal. Life can seem difficult, tiring, and even disappointing at times.

But our prayer is this: that you would know you don’t have to face these challenges in your own strength.

“Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:12-13

Paul was no stranger to suffering. His life was marked with trouble, persecution, and loss. Yet even in his darkest moments—writing letters from a cold, dark prison—Paul was able to say he was content.

How was Paul able to look past his bleak circumstances?

He looked to Christ, and he found strength beyond himself.

Paul’s secret to contentment lay in knowing that his sufficiency came from Christ. It wasn't about having more or less, success or failure, freedom or imprisonment. It was about Christ being with him, in every season, providing strength, hope, and grace.

As we approach the end of this year, it’s natural to reflect on what we’ve achieved, the challenges we’ve faced, and the seasons of hardship or abundance. Some of us may be celebrating; others may feel weary or disappointed.

But take heart! Just as Paul found contentment and peace through Christ, so can we.

Whether we’re closing the year on a high note or in a time of struggle, God’s strength remains constant. He will equip us with everything we need—not just to endure but to thrive—even in the most trying times.

So as you look back on the year and ahead to what’s to come, remember this: Christ is with you. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. He is our hope, our peace, and our sufficiency for every season of life.

In Him, we can find strength, contentment, and joy—no matter what comes our way.
