Faith - Encouraging short sermons and devotionals compiled by The Commandment Co
Speaking directly to our hearts, Hebrews 11:1 reminds us of what does it mean to be a believer?

It is the Assurance of Things Hoped For:

Faith is like a secure anchor for our souls, especially when we face storms in life. It's that unwavering confidence in our hearts that the things we hope for, the dreams we cherish, and the promises God has given us will become a reality. It's a reassurance that God is faithful to His Word, even when circumstances seem discouraging.

It is the Conviction of Things Not Seen:

Faith is our unwavering conviction in things we cannot yet see with our physical eyes. It's believing in God's love, His presence, and His purpose for our lives, even when our circumstances seem clouded in doubt. It's about trusting in the unseen hand of God at work in our lives.

Consider the story of Joseph. He had dreams of greatness but endured years of trials, including being sold into slavery and imprisoned. Yet, his unwavering faith in God's promises and His unseen providence eventually led to Joseph's exaltation in Egypt.

What then should we do?

Nurture Your Faith: As you walk in faith, nurture it. Pray, read the Word, and seek a deeper relationship with God. Let your faith grow stronger as you remember His promises.

Daily Walk of Faith: Faith isn't just for Sundays; it's for every day. Embrace faith in your daily life, trusting that God is working in every situation, even when you can't see it.

Hold Fast to Hope: In challenging times, hold fast to hope. It's the anchor for your soul, keeping you steady in life's uncertainties. Even when you can't see the way, have hope in the One who sees it all.

Hebrews 11:1 is an invitation to each of us. It calls us to walk in faith, with the assurance of our hopes and the conviction of things unseen. Your faith journey is deeply personal, and it's a path filled with the warmth of God's love, even in the midst of life's challenges. So, let's embrace the essence of faith and let it illuminate our path as we continue to follow Jesus with all our hearts.
