Honour Her For All That Her Hands Have Done | Short Sermon Series
Isn’t it great that we have a dedicated day each year for mothers to be appreciated and honoured? ☺️
As we continue on with our lives, let us not forget about these women we have been blessed with. Many mums work in the day in addition to managing the household and putting food on the table. With a never-ending to-do list, being a mother is not for the faint-hearted.
Reminding us about the Proverbs 31 women, instead of a ‘to-do’ list for an already overstressed mum, it should be read through a pair of appreciative lens. To recognise these people who do life’s most important job.
Worth more than rubies (v10), her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her (v28). Honouring her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate (v31).
God has blessed the world through these special women.
Mothers do the most important job in the world and their work is valuable beyond our imagination. And the same praise should also extend to women who may never have a child of their own, but have devoted their lives to help nurture the children born by others. As caring for a family and raising children is the noblest calling in the world. Yet at times they are underappreciated despite their overwhelming responsibilities.
So even as the day ends, let us use Proverbs 31 as our daily reminder to always love these incredible women, and give them the reward they have earned. 💕
