I Have Engraved You On My Palms | Short Sermon Series
A series of biochemical reactions occur in a mother’s brain when her baby is born, which moves her to experience overwhelming feelings of love and a fierce desire to protect her child. Maternal love extends so deep that it is unthinkable that a mother could forget about the child she bore.
Think about this extent of maternal love – now, what if we told you that God’s love is infinitely greater than the love a mother has for her child.
God says it Himself in Isaiah 49:15-16:
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands”
You are God’s beloved! Loved more than the greatest extent of human love. God has promised never to forget you – it may be unlikely for a mother to forget her child, but it is absolutely impossible for God to stop loving you.
Still don’t believe it? God says He engraved your name on His palms. Not that God needs a reminder, but He has made you a part of Him. He will never forget you, never leave you, and never forsake you.
So be confident in your identity as a deeply beloved child of God! And don’t let the world tell you otherwise.
