Jesus Is Still Your Friend - Encouraging short sermons and devotionals compiled by The Commandment Co

Regardless of your past or present, your weaknesses and failures, Jesus is still your friend.

It can be hard to believe sometimes, especially when we look at ourselves through our filter of failures - Encouraging short sermons and devotionals compiled by The Commandment Co

It can be hard to believe sometimes, especially when we look at ourselves through our filter of failures, and we lose heart. How could God love someone like me? How could God ever use someone like me? Jesus looked past our sins and loved us anyway! His death and resurrection put sin in its place once and for all, and made a way to restore our relationship with God to what it’s meant to be.

For indeed Christ died for sins once for all, the Just and Righteous for the unjust and unrighteous [the Innocent for the guilty] so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit; 1 Peter 3:18 - Encouraging short sermons and devotionals compiled by The Commandment Co

Sometimes we try to perfect ourselves before God and think that God will love us more when we get our act together. But in truth, He will never love you more than He already does right now. He will never accept you more than He already does right now! Even in our daily struggle to fight against sin, remind yourself that Christ has already made us righteous and God loves us.

Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.” Hebrews 7:27 - Encouraging short sermons and devotionals compiled by The Commandment Co

You are God’s focus. You are what He thinks about all day. You are what He’s obsessed over and won’t stop loving and wanting to spend time with you. You are His favourite. You are His friend :)

He will never love you or accept you more than He already does right now. - Encouraging short sermons and devotionals compiled by The Commandment Co
