Rejoice | Short Sermon Series
Even amidst the blooming beauty of May and the lively vibes it brings, some of us find it challenging to bask in the same sense of delight. While the world around us is adorned with the colors of spring, a few may grapple with burdens and fears, making it difficult to fully embrace the joyous spirit of the season. In the midst of May's blossoms, let's acknowledge the varying emotions and offer understanding to those navigating through challenges.
How can we celebrate or be joyful when it seems like life isn’t going the way we wanted it to? How do we feel joyful in the midst of our pain?
Paul gives us a hint in Philippians 4:4: “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”
We may not be able to rejoice in our circumstances, or the pain we feel, but one thing we can always rejoice in is the knowledge that we are children of God!
Fearfully and wonderfully made, with each of our lives bearing much meaning and intention - we are not forgotten and we are not orphans. We have a hope that goes beyond the physical realm, beyond our circumstances and beyond the grave.
We rejoice because Christ has come, and will wipe away all of our tears - and that is the true reason why Christmas can bring us cheer even in the midst of our present circumstances.
