Saved By Grace | Short Sermon Series
Many Christians acknowledge that we are saved by grace, for “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” But sometimes we forget and we start making it our job to get ourselves out of sin, when Christ has already done it!
There’ll be days where we mess up and find ourselves indulging in the flesh or living sinfully, and we often feel like we deserve worse in life. But remember this: no matter how much you mess up, you can never outdo what Jesus did on the cross for you. Jesus’ blood is sufficient for our salvation, and to overcome every sin, temptation and challenge in our lives.
In the end, it’s not about us. It’s all about Jesus. It’s not about treating ourselves based on what we deserve because of our sin. If it is, we would have to bear our own cross, but Jesus already did that for you. Jesus was treated the way we should be treated so that God can treat us the way Jesus should have been treated.
Overcoming sin will never come from our own self-discipline, but from knowing that our sins have been forgiven. Our part now is just to surrender our sin to God, and remember the grace God has shown us and empowered us with to lead a wholesome and fulfilling life. With repentance and seeking God and His strength, we’ll be on our way to overcome sin and temptation.
