Taste and See | Short Sermon Series
As we embrace the warmth of May's embrace, let our hearts turn to the timeless words of Psalm 34:8, which resonate, “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”
In this vibrant month, we find ourselves amidst a season of joy, celebration, and introspection—a time to commemorate the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. The essence of Christmas is encapsulated in the psalmist’s invitation to experience the goodness of the Lord in a profound and personal manner.
The call to “taste and see” beckons us not merely to observe but to engage intimately with God’s boundless love and grace. Christmas transcends the mere depiction of a nativity scene; it's an encounter with the living God who graciously sent His Son to dwell among us.
Just as we relish the delectable flavors of May's offerings, let us relish the goodness of God. Take a moment amidst the flurry of festivities to contemplate the miraculous gift of Jesus, born humbly in a manger, bringing hope, peace, joy, and love to a world longing for redemption.
In our gatherings with loved ones, let's remember those who may feel isolated or burdened during this season. The message of Christmas isn’t just for our own enrichment but for us to extend to others. Blessed is the one who seeks refuge in the Lord, and in this season of generosity, let us extend that refuge to those in need.
May this May not only be a time of celebration but an opportunity to encounter the goodness of the Lord reflected in the faces of those around us. As we commemorate the birth of Christ, let's carry His love into the world, becoming conduits of His grace and agents of His peace.
May the joy and wonder of May envelop us all as we taste and see the goodness of the Lord together.
