Kingdom of God Known | Short Sermon Series
Before Jesus ascended into Heaven, He left His disciples with a final command - “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” Matthew 28:19
In short, He was exhorting His disciples to make the kingdom of God known to all – to tell them about the great hope that all humanity had, now that sin and death were defeated.
As a follower of Christ, you and I are disciples too! That means that this command He left applies to us too. Though Christ is no longer physically on Earth, you and I are called to be His hands and feet, to make Him known and bring a lasting hope to a broken world.
Are there people in your life who have yet to know the good news? Perhaps a friend, family member or even a colleague? This Christmas season is a great opportunity to speak about the hope that you hold as a follower of Christ – don’t let fear hold you back. In fact, you might be surprised at how open some people are to listening.
If this hope is really true, then it’s news that’s too good to keep to ourselves - so go forth boldly, child of God, and make disciples of all nations!
