The Joy of Walking with the Shepherd | Short Sermon Series

We often fill our days with tasks to accomplish and busy ourselves with decisions that we think will shape our destiny - so much so that we often forget that our Good Shepherd is waiting patiently for us, longing to hear our voice.

In the busyness of the day have we been carried away by our own desires and passions? Just like sheep do we follow an enticing scent and cry out only when we get stuck along the way?

Psalm 23 reminds us that we lack no good thing, for the Lord provides for us if we would only lean on Him and, like sheep, follow our Good Shepherd. The Psalmist reminds us to be still before the Lord for He will restore and refresh us both in good times and bad.

The chorus of a familiar hymn ‘He walks with Me’ comes to mind and it goes:

“And He walks with me and He talks with me and He tells me I am his own. And the joy we share as we tarry there none other has ever known.”

Today, let us be reminded to include our Good Shepherd in our life’s journey, for He loves us and desires to walk closely with us every step of the way!
