The Lord is My Shepherd | Short Sermon Series
We all need hope in our lives, hope for the future, hope that brighter days will come. Without hope, the challenges of this troubled world would easily discourage us and lead to giving up, a state many find themselves in today.
But it doesn’t have to be this way as we can live with hope in the Lord.
What is hope? It's not mere wishful thinking about the future; the Bible defines it differently. It's a confident assurance in the present, based on our trust in what God will do in the future.
Amidst the injustice and suffering of this world, we must hold on to unwavering hope in the Lord. Even as darkness seems to grow, we can approach God with renewed confidence, knowing that He has a perfect plan for our lives.
Hence as we turn to Psalm 23, we see the words, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want." This psalm was written by David, a young shepherd boy who intimately understood the role of a shepherd as he tended his father's flock. Similarly, the Lord is our caring shepherd, both to David in the past and to us believers today.
The Lord deeply cares for you and provides for all your needs.
Look upwards, to the Lord, relying on Him to meet our needs. He may work through the people He has placed around us, but ultimately, He is the ultimate source of every blessing and provision in our lives.
May you always place your faith in Him, trusting that He will supply all your needs, both in this life and the life to come.
