Season of Singing | Short Sermon Series
The world can feel like a very broken and hopeless place sometimes. It seems like death, destruction, pain and suffering abound. But if we look closely, we’ll also see that all of Creation is constantly going through a process of renewal. Past the brokenness, hope always remains.
We see it in the tree that springs up with greenery after a harsh winter leaves it bare. We see it in the rainbow that spreads across the sky after a storm. We see it in the smile of a stranger, a kind action, and a gentle word.
All these remind us that darkness has not won, even if it feels like it has sometimes. It’s a tangible reminder to us that Jesus has won the victory over the sin and brokenness in this world.
This earth is not our home - there will be a day where Jesus comes back and no longer will there be any pain or suffering.
“My beloved speaks and says to me: “Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away, for behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.” Song of Solomon 2:10-12
And until we hear our beloved speak these words to us, we’ll keep hanging on to the hope that is all around us. He is good, He is fighting for us, and He has the victory.
