Death, destruction and injustice surround us and bring us so much pain and heartache. We plead with God to save us from our painful circumstances, to bring healing to the broken world.
While God is in our midst, working to restore and redeem all of Creation, the fact is that this world is not our home and is not where our stories end.
Suffering may abound in this life, but we must remember, especially in the midst of our painful suffering, that there is much joy to come.
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18
It may be hard to fathom, but this is the truth presented to us - there will be a day where death will be no more and where every tear will be wiped from our eyes. On that day, God’s glory will shine through, and all will be made right.
But for now, we plod along in the valley of the shadow of death. And as we weep, we also rejoice, for our good Shepherd draws nearer still. He brings us comfort and carries us through the darkness.
Let us learn to suffer well, and to love the presence of our Heavenly Father, for He is the One who will carry us to glory. He is the One we will dwell with in peace and joy forever.
May the designs by @onesillyduckie remind us that our present suffering will not remain, but He shall bring us through it!
