The day of Pentecost was unlike any other. The followers of Jesus were gathered together, when suddenly the Holy Spirit came like a rushing wind, filling the room and filling their hearts. Flames rested upon them, and words of truth poured out of their mouths in languages they had never learned. Confusion turned to awe as Peter stood and declared, “This is what was spoken by the prophet Joel.”
“... I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” Acts 2:17
Acts 2:17 marks the fulfillment of a long-awaited promise: God Himself dwelling within His people. The God who once met His people in temples now makes His home in human hearts. The same Spirit who hovered over the waters at creation now breathes new life into all who believe.
In every age, God is still pouring out His Spirit on us - young and old alike, across every nation and language. He gives dreams in place of despair, visions in place of blindness, and courage in place of fear.
The Spirit of God rests in your heart! So step out boldly into the plans and purposes and dreams that God has in store for you.
