“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” Psalms‬ ‭5‬:‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

The Psalmist, David, made it his first priority every morning to cry out to God and commune with Him. Jesus also did the same, going to a quiet place every morning to spend time with the Father.

When was the last time God heard your voice? When did you last make time to sit with God intentionally and talk to Him?

If communing with the Father was Jesus’s priority in order to obtain strength for a long, tiring day of ministry ahead of Him, how much more do we need to spend time with God in order to get through our own days!

We might complain that there is no time to do so – the demands of school and life are too overwhelming. Surely, God would understand that our modern times are too demanding – perhaps spending so much time with God is not really feasible.

If we really look deep into our hearts, the truth is that if something is important enough to us, we will put it as a priority and make time for it.
There will always be time for God. The question is, are you willing to make time for Him?

Let us choose the better thing today - instead of being so busy and distracted by like Martha, learn to sit at Jesus’s feet just as Mary did. There you will find abundant grace and strength to get you through each and every day!
