The Lord is good! He really, really is.

As we stand on the last day of this year, it’s natural to reflect on the journey we’ve walked—its joys, its trials, its mountaintops, and its valleys. For some of us, this year may have felt like a long walk through a dark valley. The pit, where questions haunt our hearts:

  • God, are You really good?
  • Are You really faithful?
  • Do You really see how broken I am?

But hear this gentle whisper from the Lord: “Yes, I am good. I am faithful. I see you.”

You may not see it yet, but God has been working in your life—even when the answers seemed delayed, even when the prayers seemed unheard. Prayers you whispered months or years ago have not fallen on deaf ears. God’s timing is perfect, and His ways are always higher than ours.

This year may not have looked like what you expected, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t good.

God is a Restorer and Redeemer. He will lift you from the pit of brokenness. He will breathe hope into your heart again. You will dream, you will smile, and you will rejoice once more.

As you look back on this year—whether with gratitude, grief, or a mixture of both—hold fast to this truth:

“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” – Psalm 27:13

Dear child of God, as you step into a new year, wait on the Lord. Be strong. Take heart. Wait for Him.

His goodness has been with you in the past, and His faithfulness will carry you into the future. You will look back one day and realize—He was always there. He’s always been good.

So on this last day of the year, let us give thanks for the moments we’ve seen His goodness, trust Him for the unanswered prayers, and look forward with hope.

Because God is good—yesterday, today, and in all the days to come.
