Joshua 1:9 | Short Sermon Series
As we bid farewell to the holiday season, a hint of trepidation may linger in the air, accompanied by a touch of weariness. With the dawn of a new year on the horizon, how do you perceive the path ahead? Does anticipation fill your heart? Or do you find yourself grappling with apprehension about the uncertainties that lie ahead?
The exhortation of Joshua 1:9 was given to Joshua after Moses had died and it was now Joshua’s task to lead the Israelites to the promised land. It was a new season for Joshua, and he would have been understandably worried about the future. God knew the fears in Joshua’s heart and spoke directly to him,
“Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God is with you everywhere you go”!
If you’re feeling scared or small when you look towards the new year, may these words to Joshua also be an encouragement to your heart today.
God is calling you to be strong! To be courageous! He promises to be with you wherever you go. He dwells in your heart and leads and guides you gently. He will never let you go, and won’t let your foot stumble. Walk confidently and boldly into the new year, for your good God is with you.
