It’s time for daring prayers - Encouraging short sermons and devotionals compiled by The Commandment Co

We have a God who can do more than we can ask or imagine, so it’s time we stopped playing it safe with our prayers. We weren’t created for a mere life of comfort, but one of passion and power to change the world in our own way.

As surely as you live, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord. 27 I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. 1 Samuel 1:26-27 - Encouraging short sermons and devotionals compiled by The Commandment Co

The Bible shows us a variety of prayers. Some of them were incredibly personal - to conceive a child (1 Sam 1:27) - others were more practical, for food and provision (Matt 6:11) and escape from enemies (Ps 59:1-2). Sometimes they whispered gently, other times they yelled in frustration. Their prayers were honest and REAL.

Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11 - Encouraging short sermons and devotionals compiled by The Commandment Co

We’ve prayed these ‘faithless’ prayers and grown accustomed to it, but God wants more for you and wants to have an intimate relationship with you. Instead of having it safe, God bursts our what’s-in-it-for-me bubble and invites us to trust Him even in the unknown. Some days will feel great, full of miracles and joy, while other days we may face challenges, hardships or discouragement, but every moment of daring prayers are filled with His presence.

Deliver me from my enemies, O God; be my fortress against those who are attacking me. Deliver me from evildoers and save me from those who are after my blood. Psalm 59:1-2 - Encouraging short sermons and devotionals compiled by The Commandment Co

It’s time to stop playing it safe, it’s time to start (really) talking and (really) listening to God. It’s time for life-changing daring prayers.

It’s time to stop playing it safe, it’s time to start praying honest and real prayers. its time for daring prayers - Encouraging short sermons and devotionals compiled by The Commandment Co
