Finding meaning at work - Inspirational short sermon series by The Commandment Co

Work has always existed and it’s purpose goes beyond providing for our earthly needs.
Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good ~Genesis 1:31 - Encouraging short sermon series by The Commandment Co

God’s creation of the universe is described as work. Not only was it good, but God delighted in it as well. We learn that God partners humanity in nurturing the earth in the first chapters of Genesis, and when we connect with God in our work, we are on to way to finding meaning and satisfaction in our work.

If you make any work the purpose of your life - you create an idol that rivals God. Your relationship with God is the most important foundation of your life, and indeed it keeps all other factors ~ Quote by Tim Keller - Moving daily devotionals from The Commandment Co's Short Sermon Series - Finding meaning at work

And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life - This is indeed a gift from God ~ Ecclesiastes 5:19 - Finding meaning at work: Short sermon series by The Commandment Co
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters ~ Colossians 3:23 - The Commandment Co's Short sermon series

But what about enjoying life? That’s a gift from God, not product of a successful career and great income. Even King Solomon, the wisest and most successful person who ever lived, tells us that all this is a gift from God, not a result of work (Ecc 5:19). Our work serves as a demonstration (Col 3:23) and testament of the transformation of our hearts upon experiencing God’s goodness in our lives (1 Cor 15:58).

Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless ~ 1 Corinthians 15:58

The work we do won’t give us any meaning unless we find our meaning in the One who gave us work :)

We find meaning and satisfaction when we find our portion in Christ
