 If you are suffering from mental illness, it can be painful and you’ll wonder where God is, but hold on to this: God cares deeply for you when you are in pain. He is right there with you, just as He always has been whether you feel it or not. He will never leave you nor forsake you :)

Even when you can’t put your prayers into words, God understands. He hears the cries of your heart. He is close to you and will rescue you from your fears (Psalm 34:17-18).

However, it can still be difficult to navigate through Christian community. Sometimes there will be misconceptions surrounding mental illness that you may need to overcome, but God can give you the strength to seek the help you need. When finding community, seek out people who you feel safe with and who will support you without judgement. It’s important to have people to encourage you, pray for you, and walk this journey with you and remind you of God’s love and faithfulness through this difficult time.
  
With the love and support from God and your community, you can get through this!! If you’re depressed, tell someone. Tell a doctor, counsellor, friend or family member. Please don’t suffer alone.
