Single & Secure | Short Sermon Series
If you’re obsessed with what’s to come, you’ll miss out on what’s now. People always think the grass is greener on the other side - singles just want to get married and some who are married wish they treasured single-hood more! But the grass is green where you to chose to water the grass. God has called us to be secure in whatever season we’re in.
Your friends won’t be having the life you want (everyone’s different). So don’t live like the crowd but stay with the minority. Having a spouse won’t produce security but a saviour does! Ruth chose right over easy (Ruth 1:14-18), even though it wasn’t easy, and the right thing is God’s word. It’s not about knowing God’s word, but living it out in your life.
You can be single and secure! It is better to be hungry for the word of God than to be fed outside of God’s word. Faithfulness is aways attractive! Ruth’s faith was in God (her provider!) and she was blessed with Boaz (who she married), and even became the great grandparent of King David! (Ruth 4)
Singleness is not a stop sign. Life doesn’t only begin when you get attached or married. Life is happening, but are you happening? You don’t have to live bored or be boring, because a life with Jesus is one of adventure and abundance of life! Jesus is the best partner we could ask for, and maybe once we realise that, He blesses you with the one on earth as well :)
