Fruit of the Spirit | Short Sermon Series

Have you ever from time to time genuinely wondered, “Why am I here?” Sometimes we might feel replaceable – the world doesn’t really need me does it? Does what I do make any difference?

If we look towards the world to give us a sense of purpose, we might end up feeling even more lost. Instead, to answer the age-old question, “Why am I here?” we need to look to the One who placed us here.

When God formed you, nothing about you was randomly chosen. Every detail about your personality, interests and gifts was intentionally woven together to make the unique being that you are.

So why are you here? You are God’s handiwork! Created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for you to do (Eph 2:10).

As His Creation, you are called to bear His image and reflect His glory through bearing fruit in every area of your life (John 15:8). This fruit you are to bear comes from the outpouring of the Spirit upon your life, giving way to more love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Gal 5:22-23).

So go forth today, confident in the answer to your “why?”. You are God's intentional creation, uniquely designed to bear much fruit and bring His light to the spaces He sends you to!
