It Is In You | Short Sermon Series
God created man from dirt (Gen. 2:7). Everyone came from dirt and dirt really doesn’t have a positive connotation in society - dirty mouths, dirt cheap, unclean. On the contrary, everything God does is beautiful and magnificent - He designed heaven with gates of pearl and streets of Gold - but for the Son He sent for us, He used dirt.
Instead of getting mad at this, get glad! We have a God who is awesome in every way, yet He still works with dirt. When people don’t want to deal with your dirt, God says bring it to Him and He’ll breathe into it. We don’t need to be in a perfect situation because dirt is the only environment conducive for a seed, and there is a seed of greatness in you!
Of all the things that Paul could say before he died (in 2 Timothy), he told us to stir up what God has put in us. We all have a seed in us, but we can’t just plant a seed and expect it to grow and bear fruit on its own, we have to water it. Many of us lose hope of what God said He would do, but we too have to water our seed, we have to stir up what God put in us with God’s word - not just sit around and hope it grows and bears fruit.
God wants to do something new in your life. Others won’t see the greatness in you cos they didn’t plant the seed, God did. There is a great gift inside of you (it could be simply handling children well, or excelling in studies, or giving nice haircuts etc!) and God is waiting on you to stir it up!
