We have the choice to grow and not stay in the same place. We don’t want to be the same person in the same place laughing at the same jokes - we want to look back and say “WOW LOOK WHERE GOD HAS BROUGHT ME!”

 

 

 

Depression doesn’t feel like any other illnesses. It’s mental war where Christians either feel like they’re spiralling downwards, or hate themselves for feeling that way.

 

But as a friend or family member who may be unsure if your loved one is depressed or worried to leave them alone, what do you do?

Shock. Numbness. Guilt. Pain. Loss. One after another, and all at once.

All these feelings, crashing in and out of me since four days ago, when I lost my one and only brother, Brian Khoo Yew Jin. Some of you may already know what happened, some of you have only found out bits of it. Some I've wanted to tell since the start, but either I didn't have it in me to break the news or I've been drained out trying to be there for my parents whilst sorting out the final rites without violating CMCO SOPs.

 

 

 

 If you are suffering from mental illness, it can be painful and you’ll wonder where God is, but hold on to this: God cares deeply for you when you are in pain. He is right there with you, just as He always has been whether you feel it or not. He will never leave you nor forsake you :)

 

 

 

 

In view of how many people are struggling with depression and anxiety over prolonged periods of self isolation, we are sharing on some common and critical misconceptions about depression.

 

 

 

 

 

An important part of battling depression is winning the war over our feelings. We will always have feelings and they never go away. When depression attacks, we feel like giving up, but the way we respond to it makes all the difference.

As a Christian, you have within you the power to overcome the spiritual darkness that fills the world. But how can we tap into this power?

1. God alone is the source of light. 

The only one who can break through this darkness is God—the source of all light. He’s the one who created the sun, moon, and stars. And since He is holy and dwells in unapproachable light (1 Timothy 6:16), all spiritual understanding originates from Him as well. Even though He shines all around us, only those who have had their eyes opened can see the full revelation of spiritual truth. 

At one point in His ministry, Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life” (John 8:12). What all the world’s empires could not accomplish, God did by providing the revelation of truth, which can lead everyone out of sin and into forgiveness and salvation.
