Here’s the thing about a relationship with God - it’s the same all the time. He never changes, His word is true and it doesn’t have loopholes in it. It is what it is and He’s very clear that He’s the same yesterday, today, and forevermore.

 

Ever felt swallowed by life? Maybe by depression, conflict or worry, and it left you feeling hopeless? Jonah did too. As Jonah ran from God, he was swallowed by a big fish and as He sat in that fish, He looked up to God and prayed (Jonah 2). From the very first verse of Jonah 2, we see him turning to God and it’s a reminder for us to look up to God when we’re feeling overwhelmed and hopeless.

 

 

 

 

 

“It is finished.” Everyone’s heard this line before, but we often forget that what Jesus did on the cross is eternal. It IS finished - not was or will be finished - and we are free!

 

 

 

 

If you’re obsessed with what’s to come, you’ll miss out on what’s now. People always think the grass is greener on the other side - singles just want to get married and some who are married wish they treasured single-hood more! But the grass is green where you to chose to water the grass. God has called us to be secure in whatever season we’re in.

Let’s be real, its easy to forget stuff in life! We’ve all forgotten a good friend’s birthday at some point. It doesn’t mean that they’re unimportant, it’s just that importance doesn’t always trigger our memory!

 

 

  

 

Seems as though God is into new beginnings, and tends to birth them in unlikely circumstances. The young boy named David killed Goliath with a sling and stone, Paul, who initially persecuted followers of Christ then became an influential voice in the Bible after encountering Jesus, and the Virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus in a manger. What makes you think it couldn’t be you too?

By one man’s disobedience, we were all sinners, but we are all now righteous by one Man’s obedience.

 

 

 

 

It seems as though the news headlines are getting more and more dramatic - the media presents something with maximum shock in order to grab your attention. The editor will say anything in the headlines to bait you into reading on! And this is what the enemy does too. He’s putting negative headlines - “you’re just a nobody”, “you’ll never get out of this” - over our day, week… and even lives!

 Many of us will think that there’s nothing great about ‘me’. I’m just….me. but that’s where we’re wrong. There is nothing ordinary about you! From your fingerprints to your inner most dreams and desire, everything is original and beautiful! Don’t compare yourself to others and their seemingly perfect perception just because they look good. God gave you so much more than looks, God has given you a beauty on the inside (which cannot be stolen from you) which will cause you to shine on the outside as well!

Truth be told, God sees so much more in you than you could ever see in yourself. But ‘more’ here does not refer to more stuff, it refers to His unique plans and purposes for your life. You have so much potential for the life ahead of you - full of God’s grace, goodness, favour and love!
