Joy Of The Lord | Short Sermon Series

“The joy of the Lord is my strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

I Will Be With You | Short Sermon Series

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭2‬ ‭ ‬‬‬‬‬

At times the circumstances of our lives can feel like we’re being thrust into the ocean, and the waves seem strong enough to drown us. It can feel like we’re being thrust into a fire and the flames might burn us up.

My Grace Is Sufficient For You | Short Sermon Series

These words were spoken to Paul by God when Paul was given a “thorn in his flesh”, or in his own words, “a messenger of Satan, to torment me” (2 Cor 12:7). Paul shares that he pleaded with God three times to take it away from him, but instead of taking away the torment that Paul was experiencing – God said to Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness”.

Some of us might look at this exchange and be indignant – why didn’t God just remove the pain that Paul was going through? One snap of His fingers and Paul could be well – so why was God withholding healing?

This blessing in Numbers 6 is frequently used to bless others – but what is the story behind it?

The blessing was spoken by God to Moses, in order that Moses might tell Aaron how he should convey God’s blessing upon Israel. It’s amazing to know that these words come directly from God Himself.
